There are no rules aboard the Princess Gyda! London (Saturday) The Princess Gyda has an exclusive berth on the Thames within walking distance of Tower Bridge. Some of the best shops in Europe can be found around oxford street, and Harrods and Fortnum and Masons are but a short taxi ride away. The English capital also hosts a variety of sports events of the highest standard, and many top west end shows are available. Amersterdam and the Hague (Sunday) Amsterdam is an enchanting city, home to countless shops, museums and galleries. Its canals are lined with elegant houses and shaded by tall trees. Alternatively take a train to the Hague (first class tickets provided), and enjoy a refined yet intimate capital. Stockholm (Monday) Sailing through the beautiful skerries which surround its harbour, the princess Gyda arrives in mid morning. Old Stockholm is a curious, appealing medley of tall merchants houses, renaissance buildings and medieval alleys, whilst modern Stockholm, to the north, offers an equally pleasing contrast. Copenhagen (Tuesday) The city centre in Copenhagen makes a fascinating stroll, its main street, Stroget busy with shops, cafes and street buskers. Close by is the Tivoli gardens, with is fairground rides, fireworks, restaurants in delightful setting. Oslo (Wednesday) A day to discover the many charms of the lovely Norwegian capital. Oslo offers may wonderful museums; see the balsawood raft on which Thor Heyerdahl crossed the pacific, the polar vessel, Fram, which carried Amundsen to the south pole, the Viking ship museum and the excellent Norwegian maritime museum. Bergen (Thursday) Home of the composer Edvard Greig and one time capital of Norway, Bergen is a charming cosmopolitan fishing port, with quant cobbled streets, medieval wooden houses, fascinating museums, fine shops, cafes and an excellent outdoor fish and flower market. The open friendliness of the population, the majority speaking English, make for a memorable visit. Edinburgh (Friday) A fleet of limousines will be waiting to drive passengers right to the heart of Edinburgh on the famous princes street.
